Portland International Raceway
I went to a Track Day at PIR on Wedesnday. FUN!!! There were lots of other Lotus' there, plus some Porsches and a couple Ferraris. It rained a little in the morning but dried out in the afternoon.http://www.portlandraceway.com/

Happy Birthday!
I heard the doorbell and opened the door to find a nice delivery. I set the flowers down and opened the window blinds to let the light in for the flowers. Then I looked down to open the card and noticed a little movement out of the corner of my eye, outside the window. I looked up and saw a deer walking by not 5 feet away from me!

Deer Crossing
In California you see Deer Crossing signs, but no dear. In Eugene, Oregon you see Deer crossing signs and you see dear! I saw 5 last week. Three in one day when I was on a walk thru the neighborhood, one crossing the road while I was driving. and another while walking again. You can see the one below. There are also signs for Wild Turkey! And I've seen one, a live turkey not a sign, about three blocks from my house!

On the way to my house...
Fun, fun fun! I can never seems to drive stright home when going out for an errand.I hit 1000 miles last week so I've been trying not to drive it too much before I go for the first oil change. Have to go to Portland; it's the only dealer in Oregon. Road Trip!

The view was already really nice today but it should be really impressive on a clear day.

After I got back from my drive I took a break and decided to go out again, this time for a hike. I went part way up the Ridgeline trail (off of Foxhollow) .
I came to a "Y" and decided to go left, away from the top of Spencer Butte because it was getting late and I wasn't sure if I had enough time to get up and back before it got dark. Thru the trees (below) I could see the edge of the mountain.
So I went off the trail and found a great view at the edge.

Weekend Driving: Breaking in the Lotus
I drove a few hundred miles this weekend. It's helping me break in my new Lotus. Not really; I just like driving. I went West on Friday to Florence. Nice drive. A few twisty roads. I went kinda East on Saturday and ended up at a park off of HWY 58.
I got out and walked down one of the trails and came upon a river. It reminded me of the creek out back behind the barn in Healdsburg. I want to come back in the Summer when it's hot and go in it.
